Park & Cemetery
Feather Park is located on
Snow Road behind Oronoko Charter Township Office and has an enclosed shelter
as well as an open shelter which are available to the residents of the township.
A deposit is required for the
enclosed shelter. Both require reservations which are made at the township office.
No reservations are taken for the enclosed shelter without the deposit.
Reservations can be made after January 1 of each year. The shelters can be
used from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Only one reservation per day is allowed for
the enclosed Shelter.
The shelters are available
beginning the last week of April thru the first week of October.
The enclosed shelter contains
picnic tables, restrooms and running water. There is no heat, refrigeration
or cooking facilities.
The open shelter contains
picnic tables. There is a portable toilet available on the grounds.
The requirements for a
resident to be buried in Oronoko Charter Township are:
- Anyone who has lived in the township for at least 180 days prior to death.
- Anyone who has been a resident of the township for a period of 20 years and
has proof will be considered as a resident for the purpose of purchasing graves
and burial.
The Oronoko Charter Township has
the following options available:
- Full burial.
- Cremains buried in a regular grave.
- Columbarium burial of cremains in a niche.
- Available space to accommodate a side by side mausoleum.
- Wood scattering areas.
All grave purchases and burials
are scheduled through the township office during regular working hours from
8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Burial times are Monday-Friday
9:00 am - 3:00 pm Week-end and permitted holiday burials are from 9:00 am - 11:00 am
When scheduling a burial there
must be at least 8 working hours allowed prior to the service. During the winter
months, because of weather conditions, 12 hours may be required.
